Why Are The Malays Punished?

We know the PAP has used the 1964 racial riots as an excuse to discriminate against Malays in the armed forces.

They said National Service began just three years after the riot.

That it was not feasible to mix Malays and Chinese in the army when they had just fought each other.

And that is why, they say, Malays could not be trusted in the military.

But here’s the problem.

The PAP was one of the parties that provoked the riot.

It began when Chinese youths threw bottles at the Maulidur Rasul procession.

And somebody threw a bottle from upstairs. Now who did it? Nobody knows. But you can be sure that those flats are all occupied by Chinese.

It was a fight between Malays and Chinese.

Both communities were involved. Both were guilty.

So here’s the question:

Why are the Malays the only ones punished?
