The Singapore PAP government has once again proven their pro-Israel, anti-Palestinian double standard.
In 2018, this government banned the screening of a Palestinian movie, “Radiance of Resistance”. The movie was a biographical account of 2 young Palestinian activists’ lives, one of which was Ahed Tamimi.
The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) claimed that the movie was “skewed” towards the Palestinian perspective and could “cause disharmony amongst the different races and religions in Singapore”.
And yet, even though this government banned the Palestinian movie, they have no problem promoting a skewed Israeli film.
Today, as Israel is committing genocide on Palestinians, Singapore is co-hosting an Israeli Film Festival that promotes the Israeli point of view.
The Singapore Film Society (SFS) is co-organiser of this event that is promoting Israeli propaganda in Singapore.
The Chairman of SFS is Kenneth Tan, the former Assistant Chief Executive of the IMDA.
One of the movies being screened is a supposed historical drama that depicts an Israeli woman as a heroine against “Palestinian terrorists”.
Where is the balance?
If the Radiance of Resistance was banned for showing the Palestinian perspective without Israeli “counterbalance”, why is this Israeli propaganda piece not similarly banned?
Why does the SFS support such clear bias?
And why does the IMDA not ban the Israeli movie as they banned the Palestinian?
Once again, the Singapore government has shown their support for Israeli propaganda.
Note: We have contacted the SFS for comment and are awaiting their response.
